The only thing that makes life possible is permanent intolerable uncertainty, not knowing what comes next.
– Ursula K. LeGuin
We truly are experiencing unprecedented times. Perhaps, this may be the pinnacle of uncertainty in our lifetimes…
Whatever the outcomes of this global crisis may be, the time spent reflecting on the past, present, and future grants us enough wisdom to understand and not forget our history. Our community. Our friends. Our loved ones…
A great deal has been made about the people in our community that are risking everything to keep our community moving forward – providing rays of hope. Medical professionals, workers in supply chain services, emergency services workers – they are the true heroes. Always have been and always will be. Just like all the rest of the ordinary folk in our communities. Let’s hope that this appreciation is not an anomaly of the fleeting moment, where our forgetfulness as a culture takes us back to worshipping those that have a difficult time teaching all of us the core, human value system.
And yet, these difficult times will pass. We will move on. Adapt. Change. We will see that our very local community is extremely important to us. And, that we need to support that community in every aspect.
In saying this, we too are moving forward in these uncertain times. We at McLeod Creek Timber Frame Company are respecting the rights of ourselves and others by not physically working on site projects. Instead, our isolation has turned our focus 100% onto design, budgeting, and distance communication – something that has always been part of our business because of our size, our business modelling, and our rural location. This has allowed us to ready ourselves for whatever the future may hold…
Now is a great opportunity to create, plan, and discuss your timber frame project – large or small. It is a great time to share ideas and be inventive so that when we are able to once again move forward and engage in close, personal social contact, we are ready to build your dream space…
The future is no more certain than the present.
– Walt Whitman
